‘Gathering’ together:

Spiritual Communion: A form of service to enable us to share in the Communion of Jesus Christ in our homes (see below re: Palm Sunday and Easter Day).

Stations of the Cross - in The Footsteps of Christ: Follow in the Footsteps of Christ as we ‘journey’ through Passiontide, Holy Week and Easter: https://www.facebook.com/heartofnorfolk/

Praying together and staying together: A lovely idea from Giles Orpen-Smellie (one of the Churchwardens at Wood Norton):

“The one time small groups are able to come together is when households come together for meals.

I wonder whether Sunday lunchtime might be a time when everyone could pray at the same sort of time (1pm?) – as they gather together around the table - all using the prayer from the HON website. It might help to build a sense of togetherness even though we are separated.”

God of compassion,
have mercy upon this nation and our world in this time of fear and confusion:
we bring before you those who are suffering and those who tend to their needs;
may those in isolation know your comfort and company,
and may neighbours show your love in works of care, kindness and prayer.

We pray for the National Health Service and all engaged in scientific research,
and we pray too for those upon whose shoulders the yoke of leadership rests,
that in their conversation and communication your still small voice may be heard.
We ask this in the power of the Holy Spirit,
through the One who stretched out his hands to bless and to heal,
even Jesus Christ, our Lord.

It would also work for those of us who have Sunday lunch alone, knowing we are with everyone else in Spirit.
